Dinny Evans
In 1987 I moved to this mountain paradise I now call home from Santa Barbara where Rich and I co-owned an outdoor sporting goods store. I started in the real estate industry utilizing my accounting and sales skills managing a local construction firm, Western Mountain Construction. The experience gave me invaluable education in construction and the building process allowing me to become familiar with the Truckee building community – builders, inspectors, sub contractors, vendors and related service providers. Today, that knowledge and those contacts serve in assisting clients needing work done on their homes. I decided to move into real estate sales in 1992 when I joined Rich at Boice Countryside Realtors. In 1997 after several years with Boice, Rich and I left to join a franchise, Prudential California Realty. During our short time with Prudential, we enjoyed continued success, earning the honor of top sales agent for that company in 1998. In 1999, Rich and I purchased the building where we had been working under the Prudential banner. By then, we decided that the virtues of a small company far outweighed those of a large organization so we made the decision to forge ahead on our own, forming Pacific Crest Properties.
Since that June of 1999 when we began this intimate and personal real estate business, we have seen lots of changes. We started with two of us and now there are 18 strong! We built a new office building and have followed dramatic market changes and are proud to say we are still here holding a formidable place in the market. Rich and I have had personal changes as well, dissolving our marriage yet still remain strong business partners. We are proud of our accomplishments.
In my spare time, which I find I have less and less of every day, I enjoy nordic skiing, walking, swimming (I have crossed Donner Lake lengthwise 5 times), and working at a local nondenominational spiritual center in Truckee called For Goodness Sake. I facilitate groups and hold workshops for personal growth and development. And whenever I can, I enjoy spending time with Grandson Colby and look forward to the same with Megan and Erik’s new arrival in June.
