Rich & Dinny Harter
Megan
& Erik Jitloff
The
Harters moved to Truckee in 1987, with their daughter Megan, after selling an
outdoor sports business in Santa Barbara. That year Megan began kindergarten
at Truckee Elementary School.
Rich earned his real estate license in 1988, while Dinny utilized her accounting
and sales skills managing a local construction firm. That experience gave the
Harters’ an invaluable education in construction and the building process,
allowing them to become familiar with the Truckee building community – builders,
inspectors, sub contractors, vendors and related service providers. Those contacts
serve them today in assisting clients needing work done on their homes.
Dinny earned her real estate license in 1992, joining Rich at Boice Countryside,
Realtors.
After years with Boice, the Harters left to join a franchise, Prudential California
Realty. During their short time with Prudential, they enjoyed continued success,
earning the honor of top sales agent for that company in 1998.
In 1999, Rich and Dinny purchased the building where they had worked under
the Prudential banner. By then, they decided that the virtues of a small company
far outweighed those of a large organization. The decision was made to forge
ahead on their own, forming Pacific Crest Properties.
Pacific Crest Properties has remained small in size while enjoying market
share greater than all but the largest companies. On an individual per agent
basis, Pacific Crest Properties sells more real estate than any office doing
business in Truckee.
Megan graduated from Truckee High School in2000, and like most of her peers,
sought a school away from snow, choosing the University of San Diego. After two
years there, mountain life called her home. She completed her last two years
at University of Nevada, Reno, graduating with honors and a Psychology degree.
While in school, Megan earned her real estate license, working with her parents
during summer vacations. Upon graduation she joined the company full time. Her
husband, Erik, earned his license and has become an integral part of the family
business as well. What once was a “Mom and Pop” company has truly
become a “Family Affair”.
