My name is Stephani McGarry and I am a real estate agent here in Truckee with Pacific Crest Properties. I have been an agent for just over 5 years, beginning my real estate career in the Bay Area. I got my license while living in the Bay Area after having my first child and stepping out of the technology field after 13 years. I was a Program Manager for most of my career, helping to develop/oversee large scale software implementations. Once my first child was born, I realized that I couldn’t miss a day with her, but that I had to keep mentally challenged (not that raising children isn’t mentally challenging!) and keep my passion for helping people alive. I turned to real estate because it was always an interest of mine, and I knew that I could fulfill my desire to manage lots of projects, help people attain their goals, all while having fun!

Our family moved to Truckee full time three years ago. We had purchased our home as an investment in late 2000. Our dream was to someday live up in this area, but knew that our dream was far out in the distance. After buying our home, we spent every weekend in Truckee with friends and family and loved every minute of it. Little did we know, our 10 year plan turned into a 5 year plan and we were living our dream in late 2005. Both my husband and I miss the Bay Area, but the both of us grew up in small mountain communities and wanted to return to this lifestyle while raising our children. Now that we have lived here for three years, we couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. We love it here and I would love to educate more people about our special place here in the mountains. It is truly an incredible place to share with your loved ones.
