I spent the first 18 years of my life growing up in Mill Valley, CA. Soon afterward I decided that I would try another state and attended University of Oregon where I obtained a degree in International Studies with a minor in Spanish and Outdoor Leadership. Four years later I decided that I was most certainly a California kid and that Tahoe was where my home would be.
In 1995 I started Second Home Care, Inc., a property management and real estate company that now takes care of over 400 second homes in Tahoe Donner. Shortly thereafter I obtained my real estate broker license (1996), my contractor's license (1997) and have been a top selling agent in the local real estate market ever since. John Biebl and I work as a team to provide the best possible service that we can, we have been business partners since 1995. One (or both) of us is always available and ready to help and to answer any questions that your might have. We have built a number of spec homes in the area and represent a number of local contractors and can help buyers design their dream homes or find a lot for investment or building. In an effort to free up additional time to further pursue my real estate career I sold Second Home Care in April of 2007 and we are no longer affiliated with the company.
Though I am devoted and dedicated to work it is important to me to find time for other things I love. Those activities include downhill skiing, snowboarding, skate skiing, snowmobiling, hiking with my dog Kodie, mountain biking, motorcycling, and boating. From time to time it's necessary to sneak away on vacation. I have spent time studying in Mexico and Ecuador, exploring ruins in Guatemala, diving in Belize, Thailand and Honduras, camping in Alaska, backcountry skiing in Europe & Canada and trekking in Africa, traveling in Sweden, and rafting in Chile. Additionally I obtained my pilot license here at the Truckee "International" airport.
I have been active in the local community having served as President of the Sierra Business Group and member/co-chair for Chamber of Commerce Committees. I am currently one of the 3 members of the Tahoe Donner Architectural Standards Committee and frequently volunteer for local Truckee events such as the July 4th parade and Stone Soup.
The most recent "major" event in my life was getting married to Kathy Longaker May 22nd, 2010. We had amazing ceremony surrounded by friends and "freak" snow storm at the Gray Eagle Lodge in Graeagle, CA. Kathy is not old more attractive than I, but far smarter too having graduated from Cornell as a math major. Both of us enjoy a similar love for the outdoors and we recently returned from our honeymoon in the Domincan Repulic learning how to kiteboard.
